It’s been a good while since I wrote an update here. If you are after monthly updates from me, you can find them at my newsletter here or, even better, get a free novellette of supernatural horrors to sign-up to my newsletter here.
Why, then, is there an update here today? Well, because I have news. First up is an anthology, edited by Jennifer Bernardini and curated by Wayne Fenlon, called When the World Stopped. And, before I go any further, take a look at this author line-up:

So many great writers who I am lucky enough to call friends or admire are in here, I was so happy to be invited and even more so when my story was accepted.
The launch date is mid-October, but keep your eyes peeled on this Facebook page (if you use FB) and give it a follow for updates on the authors, snippets of inspiration about their stories and even readings.
It’s going to be a great anthology, and I’ll be sure to post links on my Published Work page when it’s up for pre-order.
The second bit of news is that on September 24th (just 3 weeks from now), I’ll be leading a workshop as part of Alex Davis Events’ Summer Scares Horror Writing School. My workshop is called ‘Cutting The Strings: Maximising Horror By Removing Control.’ I’ve been putting together the slides for this event this week and will continue with some of it during the quiet moments of my upcoming holiday and I’m really enjoying – as a control freak myself – seeing how much wresting control away from our characters can be such a powerful tool to increase both their fear and that of the reader.
There’ll be scaffolded writing opportunities throughout the workshop, so hopefully by the end, participants will have built a scene or part of a scene and increased the scare level to eleven. You can read about the rest of the series here.
You can also click to follow Alex’s events on the site, where he co-ordinates a packed programme of genre writing workshops throughout the year, both online and in-person. If you’ve already got your ticket, I look forward to seeing you there.
Well, that’s it for now. I may have an exciting announcement about a forthcoming release soon, but that’s for another day.
